Ear correction – for naturally beautiful ears
From protruding ears to misshapen, tattered or injured ears – perceiving one's ears as unattractive can be quite stressful. Surgical ear correction (otopexy) may provide relief in such cases. The procedure takes no longer than 90 minutes, leaving no visible scars thanks to access from the back of the ear. Important: In contrast to other plastic and aesthetic procedures, it is advisable to operate strongly protruding ears in early childhood (ideally before school starts) in order to prevent mockery and bullying.

When can I wear my glasses again after an ear correction?
During the first week after the ear correction, it is not possible to wear glasses because you will have to wear a full head bandage. Afterwards you will be able to wear your glasses again as usual. We also recommend that you wear a headband for the next two weeks, especially at night, to protect your ears.

Until the new fold is completely healed, (unintentional) folding of the auricle should be avoided. We therefore advise that you do not do any sports for the first six weeks after your ear correction surgery.
Are the costs for ear correction surgery covered by health insurance?
Any coverage of costs by your health insurance depends, on the one hand, on the extent of the problem and, on the other hand, on your age and should be clarified with your insurance provider prior to the surgery. After the age of 18, the cost of ear correction surgery is less often covered.
